Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Cross Country Coach Josh Chapman is witnessing a rise of runners on this year’s team.
The Tigers have 34 runners, which Chapman calls the “second largest class” in the five seasons he’s been with the school. Chapman tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the freshmen class consists of 11 runners, but also were gifted a healthy amount of returning runners from the state qualifying team a year ago. He recognizes a few of the returning athletes in 2023.
“Torin Timmerman, who was our top guy last year during the season. Shay Holdmeyer stepped up and was our number one runner at the state meet, and then you got other seniors like Isaac Chapman and Keegan Holdmeyer that are going to be big impact runners. You got juniors like Robbie Hall and Mark Behr (III).”
Through the first two meets of the season, ADM has placed third in both. The Tigers gear up for an invitational tomorrow afternoon at 5pm in Ames, racing at Iowa State University.
