The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Football team got their third win of the season in overtime, following monumental comeback against Norwalk.

The Tigers edged out the Warriors Friday night by a final score of 35-34 in an outstanding game. ADM led the game early in the first quarter 7-0 on a four-yard run from Junior Quarterback Hudson Shull, after gracious field position with a botched punt by Norwalk. However, the Warriors would respond by scoring 21 consecutive points with two rushing touchdowns from Senior Running Back Dominic Tigner, and a 17-yard pass from Norwalk Quarterback James Hatlevig to Junior Wide Receiver Eli Robbins. The Warriors were in front of the Tigers 21-7 at the halftime break.

In the third quarter, Tigers Kicker Ethan Asche picked up three points on a 32-yard field goal to cut the deficit to 21-10. Asche was later hurt in the game and was replaced by Colby Simons. Robbins caught a 32-yard pass from Hatlevig extended Norwalk’s lead to 28-10 to the end of the third quarter. ADM racked up 18 straight points, with another Shull rushing touchdown, a 15-yard passing touchdown to Grant Jansen, and the tying field goal as time expired by Simons to notch things up at 28 going into overtime.

In the extra frame, the Tigers had the ball first where Running Back Jon Hatchitt got a six-yard touchdown to put the advantage for ADM, 35-28. On the first play for Norwalk, Hatlevig found Tight End Luke Brewer in the back of the endzone, with a game-tying extra point to tie the game once more. The Warriors decided to go for a two-point conversion for the win, and Hatlevig’s pass was tipped by ADM defenders as the Tigers were relieved to win 35-34 in overtime.

In the win, Tigers’ Shull had 13 completions for 82 yards, and another 126 on the ground. He finished with three total touchdown and one interception. Hatlevig accumulated 253 passing yards off 14 completions, and two touchdowns. Tigner had two rushing touchdowns as well.

Norwalk falls to 1-3 on the season, while ADM improves to 3-1, as they will return home to Adel this coming Friday to battle the Boone Toredores at 7pm.
