The AC/GC Chargers football team remains undefeated on the season.

The Head Coach Cody Matthewson and the Chargers came into their Homecoming game knowing that their opponent, the South Central Calhoun Titans would make it a tough game. Things started off quickly, as the Chargers recovered the fumble on the Titans opening kickoff reception, and within two plays scored the first points of the game. AC/GC then grabbed another touchdown in the first quarter, heading into the second up 14-0. The second quarter didn’t go as well for the Chargers, as the Titans were the ones who put up two scores, and both teams went into the halftime break tied 14-14.

During the break, senior fullback Mike Fuller was named Homecoming King, with Shyann Young named Queen.

The Chargers received the ball to start the second half, with a fair catch to get them started back deep in their own territory. The first play moved the team to the 22 yard line, and the second play saw Fuller pull a spin move in the crowd at the line of scrimmage, then charge 78 yards down the field for the touchdown, putting the Chargers up 21-14. In the final quarter of the game, senior quarterback Jathan South put the ball into junior running back Joe Crawford’s chest on a big pass play, which set the team up for touchdown number four on the QB sneak from inches away, and the Chargers won the game 28-14. AC/GC is ranked as high as number two in the polls for Class A.
