A grand opening is today for a new business in downtown Jefferson.

The Courtyard Wedding and Events Center, located at 214 East State Street, is co-owned by Greg Hacker and Shirley Synder. Earlier this year, the Jefferson City Council approved a $150,000, ten year forgivable loan to help with the renovation to the vacant building that is across the alley from the Sierra Community Theatre, and there was another Council approval to allow the owners to use part of the alleyway for additional outdoor seating.

The grand opening is from 9am-5pm today, with refreshments available, as well as a cash bar. A ribbon cutting will also take place at 10am.
