There’s been a lot of work done in the City of Perry in 2024, and City Administrator Sven Peterson is grateful to the employees.
Peterson outlines that this year has been busy with infrastructure work, community-focused projects, then the amount of programming between the library, recreation center, and parks. He is happy about the progress that’s being made in the community and is thankful to the city staff.
“The ones we see out and about, and the ones we see behind the scenes, or a lot of the police officers that work (the) night shift don’t get seen a lot. So, definitely want to give a huge shout out and a huge thank you to all of the city staff, it’s just such an incredible group of people that we get to work with and the things that we’re able to accomplish as a community our size, with a staff our size, I would put up against definitely against any other community.”
Projects that the city has done or is continuing to work on include an overlay of Willis Avenue, the Frog Creek restoration project, a new runway extension at the Perry Municipal Airport, the Iowa Street Wetland project, and receiving extra assistance from the AmeriCorps Maple 5 Team that was brought in from July through early September.
