The West Central Valley School Board met in regular session Wednesday night.

The Board approved the School Budget Review Committee modified allowable growth for the special education deficit, named the Stuart Herald as the school’s official publication, financial institutions (First State Bank in Stuart, Dexter and Redfield: $10,000,000 / Rolling Hills Bank in Stuart: $500,000 / Bankers Trust in Des Moines: $10,000,000 / Iowa School Joint Investment Trust in Des Moines: $10,000,000), and Ahlers and Cooney as the district’s legal counsel. They also approved the West Central Valley FFA Chapter’s trip to the National Convention in Indianapolis, Indiana from October 22nd to 25th, quotes from ByteSpeed Bus Wifi for hardware ($46,016.50) and data ($5,814), as well as a Insight Investments whiteboard lease payout ($9,820).

The Board then approved a 12 month contract with Southwest Iowa Drivers Education, a perpetual water main easement at the high school, a middle school trip to Washington DC from June 17, 2025 to June 21, 2025, and reviewed the 2024 legislative platform and 2025 legislative priorities survey from the Iowa Association of School Boards. They also approved the first reading of the Board policy review, before ending the meeting.
