The Dallas County Board of Supervisors met in regular session on Tuesday.
The board approved a human services campus deck removal close to the Dallas County Health Department. West Des Moines company All Junk Solutions will replace the old deck that employees, who were present at the meeting, spoke about being too dangerous, especially when it rains. The plan is to conduct a deck demolition then plant grass in its place in the amount of $3,425.
Other items on the agenda that were approved included a right of way purchase agreement in the Secondary Roads Department between Kim and Kevin Gerety of Dallas County and the Clark Family Trust for $406, and a resolution to abate real estate taxes of two acres of farmland, located west of Perry near the Raccoon River Valley Trail in the amount of $14,903.
Finance Director Rob Tietz added that the new administration building in Adel is on the cusps of opening for internal departments. He commented that different entities will begin to move in during the month of October, then the public will be the last ones able to gain access towards the end of November or early December. The meeting ended with the board entering into a closed session. Supervisor Kim Chapman was not present at the meeting.
