Two people from Red Oak were recently arrested and face several felony charges for a series of alleged burglaries in Jefferson.

According to court documents, the Jefferson Police Department began an investigation on September 9th when five storage units at a business that were broken into and some items were missing. During the investigation, officers used surveillance footage from the business to identify the vehicle that was used in the alleged burglaries the previous night on September 8th. Officers then checked with the surveillance team at Wild Rose Casino and identified the same vehicle in the casino parking lot also on September 8th, which led to the identification of the two suspects that were involved in the burglaries, who had checked into the casino.

Court documents show that 37-year-old Jennifer Holz and 38-year-old Jesse Nelson, both of Red Oak, were each charged with five Class D Felonies for third degree burglary, a serious misdemeanor for fourth degree theft, and four simple misdemeanors for fifth degree theft. Arrest warrants were issued on September 24th. They were both arrested on October 2nd and were booked into the Greene County Jail, where they are each held on a $27,000 cash or surety bond.
