With cooler temperatures stretching through the state of Iowa, the City of Perry will be winterizing the parks in town.

According to City Clerk Elizabeth Hix, city employees will be shutting off all water to the drinking fountains and restrooms at the parks and outdoor facilities by the end of this week. According to the city, the restrooms will be closed and portable restrooms will be removed from the parks for the winter months. Hix reiterates that the parks will remain open from dawn to dusk as the winterization is directly affecting the water pipes.

The parks that will go through the winterization process include Pattee, Wiese, Perkins, Caboose, and the Dog Park. Any questions can be directed to Perry City Hall at (515)-465-2481.
