Tomorrow a non-profit organization in Jefferson can take care of serving your breakfast for a worthy cause.

The 51st Annual Jefferson Kiwanis Club Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser is tomorrow from 6-11am at the Greene County High School commons area. Kiwanis President Chad Stevens says there will be all you can eat pancakes, along with scrambled eggs, sausage and beverage, and he notes that this event has become a mainstay for lots of people.

“We really do have good turnouts. It gets really busy first thing in the morning. It’s typically pretty steady (foot) traffic all the way through until 10:30 (am) or 11 o’clock.”

Stevens talks about the projects and other causes that the proceeds from this fundraiser will be used for in association with their mission which is to serve children.

“We provide Greene County Extension with some funds for their youth programming. We’ve committed, I know, $1,000 this year with our new budget for Ram Readers at the (Greene County) Elementary School (and) scholarships. We provide scholarships for high school kids. We have $3,000 every year that we give for $750 scholarships out.”

Tickets are $8 per person, youth from ages 3-10 is $4 and kids two and younger can eat for free. Stevens adds carry outs are also available by contacting a Kiwanian ahead of time to get a meal prepared to be picked up.
