The Drug Enforcement Administration’s National Drug Take Back Day is happening tomorrow, and one local law enforcement entity in Dallas County is participating.

The Perry Police Department, 908 Willis Avenue, will be open tomorrow from 10am to 2pm for people to discard any expired or unwanted prescription and over the counter medications. According to Assistant Police Chief Jim Archer, the items cannot be delivered in open containers or just a plain bottle.

“Place them in a bag and drop them off. Just pull up to our garage doors, which are located on the south side of our building, and we’ll have personnel there to assist you.”

He explains that they engage in the program twice a year during the spring and fall seasons, in an effort to provide a safe way to dispose of unused or expired medications. He adds that they will not accept inhalers or needles.
