Three Greene County High School students qualified for the All-State Music Festival, while another handful were recalled and selected as alternates.

According to Vocal Director David Heupel, Hailey Carman as a first alto, Daniele Madsen as first soprano and Carter Petterson as a second tenor and qualified for the Iowa High School Music Association All-State Music Festival in November. Two other individuals including Karlee Fagerlind and William Graham were recalled, which means they made a shortlist of students that were good enough to get past the first round, but were then competing for one spot in a certain vocal part.

Band Director Wes Anderson says while no band students qualified for All-State, Trysten Naylor was recalled for clarinet and Darian Davis was selected as an alternate for tuba. Being an alternate means if a student cannot perform in the tuba section before the concert, then Davis would take their place. The All-State Festival takes place November 21st-23rd at Hilton Coliseum at Iowa State University.
