Noah Hinote joined rarified air for the Greene County cross-country program. The Greene County High School senior qualified for boys’ State Meets as a sophomore, junior, and senior, and he’s the first to do so since the Rams started running as Greene County a dozen years ago. A small number of runners accomplished that feat when the Rams ran as Jefferson or Jefferson-Scranton.
Coach Jeff Lamoureux talked with Raccoon Valley Radio about 2025 and beyond when Noah Hinote will no longer be in high school. “Although Noah’s graduation will certainly be a big loss, we have a number of very capable runners, runners that realistically could make it to State if they put the work in.”
Among those the coach mentioned were junior Carter Hinote, who earned Heart of Iowa Activities Conference All-Conference honors this season, plus sophomore Brady Carstensen, and freshmen Nick Black and Cole Johnson-Peterson. Also, freshman Rylee Mowrer led the Greene County girls all season.
