A yearly music festival is going on this weekend in the City of Perry.

The 14th Annual Art on the Prairie Festival is happening today and tomorrow in downtown Perry to celebrate art, music, and literature. Art on the Prairie Board member Lynsi Pasutti expresses that more than 2,000 people attend yearly and it’s a great way to show off the beautiful aspects that the community has to offer.

“It’s a really unique festival in the sense that we’re using the historic buildings. We have a long standing tradition of using buildings that are available, maybe it’s an under utilized space or an empty store front.”

Fellow board member Bethany Wicks explains that there will be a merchandise table with special items from some of the artists joining the festival this year, which will be located inside the Ben Franklin building along 2nd Street. The Art on the Prairie Festival is open to the public for free today from 10am to 5pm and tomorrow from 10am to 4pm. To check out more pertaining to the festival, click here.
