With an abundance of rainfall this past week, drought conditions in the Raccoon Valley Radio area have improved. 

According to the US Drought Monitor, Guthrie County went from mostly moderate and the western portion being in severe drought last week to mostly abnormally dry, to the western portion being in a moderate drought. As for Greene and Dallas Counties, both were in moderate drought conditions last week to mostly abnormally dry conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, from November 1st-7th, Guthrie Center has had 1.53 inches of precipitation, Jefferson is reporting 1.43 inches and Perry has seen 1.35 inches of precipitation. All of those totals for the month so far are well above the average normal monthly precipitation amounts that range between one-third to one-half of an inch of rainfall.
