
Three athletes from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School made it through to state in swimming and diving.
ADM Junior Eliza Schmidt, Junior Emma Popp, and Sophomore Finlee Burns all advanced to the state meet after qualifying during the regional meet in Waukee. All three are apart of the Waukee Swimming and Diving team. Schmidt is a diver who competed on Thursday, placing ninth at the Waukee Natatorium scoring 338.95 points. She joins her teammate of Neelie Streit, who was fifth in regionals. Schmidt ranks 25th going into the state meet.
Burns and Popp both swim and qualified in multiple races on Saturday. For Burns, she will be participating in the 50 meter freestyle, 100 meter butterfly, and the 400 meter freestyle relay. Popp made it through for the 200 meter medley relay, the 200 meter individual medley, and the 100 meter backstroke. Schmidt, Burns, and Popp will all be traveling to Marshalltown this Friday to compete in the state meet.
