Adair County 4-H members, and members of FFA Chapters that are planning to show beef animals should know that registration for the Adair County Fair beef weigh-in is open.

Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that while there is still plenty of time to get signed up, it’s better to do so now, so that those individuals who need to take part in the weigh-in know if it conflicts with their schedule or not. She suggests 4-H and FFA’ers do that so if they cannot make it to the Adair County weigh-in, they can check with surrounding counties.

Savage explains that this works the other way around as well, but whichever happens, individuals must contact the County Extension Office in charge of the weigh-in they wish to take part in beforehand.

“(They) cannot just show up though. So we would need to know ahead of time. So if you have a conflict in your schedule, give us a call. Call your local extension office or give the Adair County Extension Office a call so we can discuss what would be needed in order for you to participate at our beef weigh-in.”

The Adair County beef weigh-in is on December 28th.
