Adel-DeSoto-Minburn first year Football Coach Doug Winkowitsch is appreciative of the incredible senior class he inherited for the 2024-25 season.
The Tigers season ended this past Friday in Council Bluffs, losing to Lewis Central 32-25. Winkowitsch shares that he is so grateful to be in the ADM community, commenting that the school administration accepted him immediately. There were 21 seniors apart of the team this year, and Winkowitsch says that the guys were locked in from the beginning.
“We always break down to the word ‘believe.’ They just bought into it. I said ‘ you got to trust us, you got to trust each other, you got to trust yourself,’ and believe in what we’re doing, and sometimes things don’t go your way, but you got to keep battling, and I think that you saw that every Friday. I mean they just never quit, they never even flinched, and it wasn’t even a thought. You talk about don’t look at the score board, just keep playing ball, and that tells you how great of kids these are to be able to do that every Friday night, be great teammates, to accept their role whether they’re a starter or not, and just been a tremendous group of kids to work with.”
Prior to ADM, Winkowitsch spent 20 years at West Delaware High School, where he posted a record of 157-58. In his first season with the Tigers, Winkowitsch notched an 8-3 overall record, taking ADM to the Class 4A Quarterfinals game for the second consecutive year. The list of seniors are below.
