A fundraiser event is happening tomorrow in Jefferson with a few businesses and organizations helping to support another worthy cause.
Greene County Cattlemen’s Association member Noah Juergensen says they are serving steak sandwiches at the Home State Bank parking lot tomorrow from 11am-1pm. Juergensen points out that the sandwiches are a free will donation with all proceeds going to the local food pantry in Jefferson, the Greene County Action Resource Center (ARC). He appreciates Home State Bank for allowing them to use their parking lot for this fundraiser and that Home State Bank and Heartland Bank are going to match a portion of the proceeds as an additional donation to the ARC.
Home State Bank President and CEO Bob Allen says they are going to match up to $3,000 and are proud of the opportunity that the Greene County Cattlemen are wanting them to be a part of this endeavor. Allen adds that some Home State Bank employees are also volunteers with ARC that help to unload truck deliveries for the past few weeks, which is he honored to assist, especially when food prices are at historically highs and that can be pressure on families financially.
Juergensen suggests that because there are only a few parking spots in the parking lot, that people can park along that downtown square and walk a short distance to get their sandwich. The Greene County Cattlemen’s Association also asks any large groups of people to RSVP them by the end of the day today, so they can make sure their orders are ready in a timely fashion.
