While some programs come and go at the Stuart Public Library, there is a community favorite that is around each month, but changes as well.
Librarian Rachel Majerus says that one of the activities that patrons of all ages enjoy each month is the scavenger hunt. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that while the theme is changed monthly, individuals are welcome to try to find the clues hidden around the library as many times as they like. Majerus explains that the items are placed around the library at the start of each month.
“They will stay in the same place for the month. I do try to do different hiding places each month, but it’ll be an all month long in the same spots, but you can do it more than once. Cause I find usually if you have a day or two in between a scavenger hunt, you still don’t remember where things are. So kids are welcome to do it.”
Majerus mentions that prizes are awarded to those patrons who find all the clues. She adds that the library staff loves to see all the children and other patrons that participate try to find the hidden clues.
