Tomorrow is a free program that pits poets with artists with a two-time published slam poet in Jefferson.

The 5th Annual Ekphrasis is tomorrow at 2pm at the Courtyard Wedding and Events Center in Jefferson. Tower View Team Chair Deb McGinn says 13 poems were originally written and given to 13 artists to create art pieces based on their interpretation of the poem. She invites everyone to check out how the participants did.

“These 13 artists and 13 poets are all from Greene County, which is amazing. And they bring amazing art work  and they bring amazing words to this.”

McGinn adds that the featured speaker is Caleb Rainey, who has a bachelor’s degree in English-creative writing from the University of Iowa and has published two books of poetry. Those books include “Look Black Boy” and “Heart Notes.” There is no registration for this free event that is open to the public.
