Today is the final performance for the first show of a new season for Greene County Community Theater.
GCCT Board Vice President Josh Tuel says the production of “The Complete Works of Shakespeare: Abridged,” written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield has one final show tonight at 7pm at the Greene County High School auditorium. He explains the three member cast was originally supposed to be himself, Wes Anderson and Darren Jackson, but when Ash and Ashly Elliott first started up with the theater group, they wanted to get involved right away.
“When they came on board we thought, ‘Oh, well we’ve got some people to direct it. So we did the first read through and I kind of recognized right away that Ash would be much better in the cast than I would. So he and I kind of flipped roles. So Ashly and I are co-directing it, with her kind of taking the reins on that, and me in more of a support role. And then Ash was added to the cast with Darren and Wes.”
Tuel cautions audience members that the performance is rated PG-13 for some mature language. Tickets are $5 for students and $10 for adults and are available at the door for purchase.
