
Several AC/GC Chargers football players were recognized by their district after the season ended.
Senior quarterback Jathan South was recognized as the Class A District 7 MVP for the second year in a row. He recorded 26 completions on 46 passing attempts for 499 yards and seven touchdowns, along with 120 carries for 1,153 yards and 21 touchdowns on the ground. On the defensive, South tallied 48 total tackles, 32 of which were solo, along with six tackles for a loss of yards, and three interceptions.
Junior linebacker Xander Harwood was named Class A District 7 Defensive MVP. He recorded 70.5 total tackles, with 49 being solo, along with one sack and 11.5 tackles for a loss of yards. Harwood also had one fumble recovery, and one interception.
Junior Oliver Wetzel was a big part of the special teams for the Chargers, and received recognition as the Class A District 7 First Team Kicker for the 2024 season. He had one tackle on the season, along with recording 67 kickoffs for 2,581 yards, with four touchbacks. Wetzel also made 51 of 56 PATs for 51 PAT points.
