The Perry City Council met in regular session on Monday.

Don Richardson, of the American Legion Post 99 in Minburn, took a moment to thank the city council for the annual program that is held at the Perry Performing Arts Center every year to recognize veterans. Mayor Dirk Cavanaugh also commented on the employee appreciation day that was held on November 6th.

Items on the agenda that were approved included pay application in the amount of $53,795.93 to Manatt’s Incorporated for phase three for runway 14/32 at the Perry Municipal Airport, a pay application for the HMA street repairs for resurfacing for $79,530.92 to Des Moines Asphalt and Paving, an application for assistance and training with the Workforce Training and Economic Development Fund for up to $25,000, and appointing Perry Police Chief Jim Archer as the primary member plus Police Sergeant Alex Lott as an alternate on the E911 Board for the year 2025.

Additional approved items pertained to a resolution to reappoint Mayor Cavanaugh as an elected official with Chief Archer as the alternate to the Dallas County Emergency Management Commission for 2025, the fiscal year 2024 Iowa Department of Transportation Street Finance Report, certifying the Tax Increment Financing debt to the Dallas County Auditor in the amount of $415,849, the Annual Urban Renewal fiscal year 2024 report, as well as the fiscal year 2024 annual report.
