The wrestling season begins today for Perry.  The Jayettes are wasting no time as the travel to Van Meter tonight for a quad.  The competition will be stiff with Waukee NW, SWAT, and Logan-Magnolia in attendance.  Perry has seen an influx in numbers in 2024.  Coach TJ Maylum has nearly a full lineup card put together for the opener.  Last season the Jayettes could only fill 5 of the 14 weight classes.  This season the team has 15 girls and has more flexibility.  The meet will be stacked with State qualifiers from last season.  SWAT returns 4 girls from State, Waukee NW returns 8, while Perry returns 2 and Logan-Magnolia with 1.  Action begins tonight at 5P at Van Meter High School.
