An upperclassmen on the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Dance Team reflects on taking home two regional championships ahead of the state competition.

ADM Senior Katie Oliver is apart of the 2024-25 dance team who opened up the season at the Dance Team Union Regionals in Newton on November 16th. The Tigers competed in four events, receiving fifth in Varsity Pom and second in JV Pom, then first place in both Varsity Jazz and Varsity Hoopla. Oliver was joyous to win those two categories because she says the team locked in on those performances.

“We worked really hard at those two specifically with a lot of cleaning and it felt good to get recognized and then also to just feel like proud of ourselves and our team.”

Oliver expresses that her favorite part about competing against other schools is meeting other dancers who possess the same kind of love for the sport that she does. ADM will now travel to the state competition on December 6th at Wells Fargo Arena and HyVee Hall to dance in three categories of Pom, Contemporary, and Hoopla.
