Nathan Behne of Jefferson has been named to the Great Lakes Valley Conference second All-Conference football team as a kicker. The Upper Iowa University (Fayette) freshman is a 2024 Greene County High School graduate and is the son of Carl and Allison Behne of Jefferson.

Behne went six for six on field goal tries and 22 of 23 on extra point kicks for the 7-4 Peacocks, a member of NCAA Division II. This was UIU’s first season in the GLVC and the school is the only DII in Iowa. Behne also found the end zone for touchbacks on kickoffs a number of times.

Greene County head football coach Caden Duncan spoke about Behne with Raccoon Valley Radio. “We’re very happy about how well Nathan has transitioned from a high school kicker to the college game. He’s put in a lot of time and effort to become the kicker he is, and he’s well deserving of this All-Conference honor.”
