Greene County opens the boys’ high school basketball season tomorrow night in the high school gym in Jefferson vs. Ogden. It’s the second half of a non-conference girl/boy doubleheader on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.

Both girls’ team are 0-1 on the season, but both boys’ squads will be playing game number one of the 2024-25 season. Chris Nelson starts season number nine heading the Rams and it’s his 18th overall as an Iowa boys’ basketball head coach. He told Raccoon Valley Radio this team may not have a go-to number one scorer, but it looks like it has depth. “We have a bunch of guys. I think our depth is going to be a really big key for us. We’ll probably play more guys than normal. I usually like to play seven or eight, but we’ll get close to nine to 11 guys because we feel we can rotate a lot of guys and not really lose anything when we make those changes.”

Coverage of Ogden at Greene County Monday on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 o’clock and the boys to follow.
