Everyone is invited into four uniquely designed and decorated homes in Jefferson this Saturday as part of a fundraiser.
The Jefferson Garden Club’s “Holiday Tour of Homes” returns this Saturday from noon-4pm. The list of homes includes an apartment at Ever Greene Ridge with Betty Griffith and Jack Lint. According to the Garden Club, the two have been living at Ever Greene Ridge for three years and their space features a family Christmas dinner style dining table, with a “pearl” tree that was created by Betty’s late husband Carson. There are other Christmas villages of houses on display, Lint’s white porcelain with blue flowers are part of the place settings.
The Garden Club is also showcasing two older farmhouse style homes, with the first being Susan and Aaron Thiel’s home at 103 East Park Street. Their home has original early 1900’s flooring and woodwork throughout, along with Christmas decor of a tree with a train set around it, a children’s decorated tree and other unique ornaments. Denise and David Stofer, of 607 East Adams Street, is the other 1920s farmhouse style with woodwork and built-in hutches. The Garden Club eludes that there are Christmas Village scenes and Boyd figurine collections decorating each of the four bedrooms.
The Garden Club notes the other home on the tour is one of the newest in town, at 206 Deer Run, the home of Veronica and Scott Morton. Scott built the home himself and they have been living there since 2020. Some of their holiday decorations include a live tree in the center of a sunroom, along with a Santa collection in the lower-level of the five bedroom home.
The “Winter Wonderland” tickets are $10 each and can be purchased at Home State Bank, Heartland Bank or any of the Peoples Bank locations in Greene County, as well as The Printer’s Box and any Gardens Club members. Proceeds will go toward community betterment and beautification projects such as the Memorial Garden by the Raccoon River Valley Trail.
