
Greene County played its first girl/boy basketball doubleheader of the season on Monday night in Jefferson by hosting Ogden in non-conference play. The Bulldogs won the girls’ game 66-29 and took the boys’ contest by a 63-48 score. Both games were broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
It was the season opener for both boys’ teams. The Bulldogs 27-21 at halftime, then expanded the advantage to 41-23 before the Rams closed the gap to eight points and had the ball, but could get no closer. Ram junior Broc Stream lead all scorers with 20 points and he was the lone Greene County player in double figures. Ogden had three players score from 12-14 points and was led by senior Brady Van Sickle.
The Ogden girls improved to 1-1 while the Rams fell to 0-2. Junior Jordan Crosman outscored the Rams by herself, pouring in 37 points. The Rams got 11 points for the second straight game from sophomore Makenna Ebersole.
The Greene County teams are back at it tonight as they open the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference schedule at Perry. The girls play at 6 p.m. and the boys will follow. Both games can be heard on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
