The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls Basketball team competed hard, but dropped their second game of the season to Dallas Center-Grimes on Tuesday.

The Tigers lost to the Mustangs by a final score of 48-44 as it was a tight game wire to wire. The first quarter saw ADM led slightly 15-14, but before DCG outscored them 10-7 in the second quarter to lead 24-22 at half. The third quarter featured both teams tally 11 points, with the Mustangs taking a 35-33 lead into the fourth and they hung on to win 48-44.

For DCG, junior Leah Brauch led the way with 15 points, followed by sophomore Macy Meyer’s 12, and sophomore Tessa Jones added 11 points. ADM sophomore Alexis Maxwell was the only player in double figures for the Tigers with 11, followed by junior Madelyn Roundcount and senior Kelli Storck each with eight points.

DCG improves to 2-1 on the season as they will be home to Des Moines Christian on Friday. ADM drops to 2-2 and they open up Raccoon River Conference play Friday night against North Polk in Adel. Raccoon Valley Radio will carry the broadcast starting at 5:45pm with tip off shortly after at 6pm.
