A business in the Perry community recently gave money to two non-profit organizations within Dallas County.
Raccoon Valley Bank donated $1,800 each to the Dallas County Foundation and Dallas County Habitat for Humanity to raise money for their Jeans for a Cause program. According to Marketing Manager Brooke Ruddy, bank employees opt in to wear jeans on Fridays during the year, with the funds donated to local non-profit organizations who will then give back to the community. She expresses that the bank is in the third year of doing the Jeans for a Cause fundraiser.
Ruddy reveals that Raccoon Valley Bank is also giving $1,800 each to the Food Bank of Iowa, the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Iowa, and Raccoon River Pet Rescue over the next couple of days. In addition, she explains that the organization is raising funds for the Food Bank of Iowa’s Backpack programs to help out the Perry, Adel-DeSoto-Minburn, and Dallas Center-Grimes School Districts, which will match donations of up to $5,000 for each district. The winning school will have an opportunity to host a Cookies and Cocoa event for students in kindergarten through sixth grades.
