In just a few days there will be a program to honor the memory of loved ones at Greene County Medical Center.
The GCMC Foundation is hosting the Tree of Life Ceremony coming up this Thursday, December 12th at 12:30pm, where beloved individuals will be honored and their names will be read aloud for those individuals and families that purchase a $25 ornament. Foundation Director Nancy Houska says that while the holiday season brings a time of joy and giving, others are feeling the loss of a loved one and bringing a recollection of time that was spent with them.
Houska believes that we all need to be compassionate and caring, while coming together to help honor these individuals and the memories people share. When an ornament is purchased, the name of the loved one will be written with it as it hangs on the Tree of Life, which is on display near the main lobby of the medical center. The event itself will include a guest speaker, Pastor Nancy Peterson, to lead the ceremony. The final day to purchase an ornament is this coming Monday. There are several ways to buy an ornament, including at the Gift Garden of the medical center, clicking here or contacting Houska via email at nancy.houska@gcmchealth.com or by calling 515-386-0108.
