The West Central Valley Wildcat basketball teams hosted the Ogden Bulldogs on Friday night and split the series, with the Wildcat girls picking up a 61-13 lead while the Wildcat boys fell by 6 in a 60-54 loss.

The Wildcat girls seemed to be firing on all cylinders, scoring 42 points in the first half while only allowing Ogden to score 5 points in the first two quarters. Ogden would score 8 more points in the second half, but West Central Valley would not step on the brake, scoring 19 points in the second half to claim a 61-13 victory.

The boys match up would be more back and forth, but the Bulldogs would claim a 6 point lead in the first quarter and that would be the deciding factor of this match. Both teams would score 26 in the second to keep the 6 point differential. West Central Valley would score 16 points in the second half, but Ogden would continue to hold onto the lead, claiming a 60-54 victory.

Both Wildcat teams are back in action on Tuesday to take on the Des Moines Christian Lions. Action is set to begin at 6pm.
