The time for donating toys to those in need this holiday season is coming to a close.

New Opportunities Family Development Coordinator Rhonda Huggins says that for those who want to donate to Toys for Tots or the Giving Tree, they need to do so by Wednesday. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that if people don’t know what toys to get, they’re always looking for some for a few age groups.

“We don’t always get a lot of stuff for infants and we don’t always get a lot of stuff for like 12 to 14 year olds. So maybe if you’re out and about and you see a toy that, or maybe you’ve got a teenager and they would know that a 12 to 14 year old kid would like this, that would always be a good item to get.”

Huggins mentions that the reason the toys or monetary donations for both Toys for Tots and the Giving Tree need to be on by Wednesday is that they plan to distribute toys to families. Donations can be made at the New Opportunities office in City Hall during regular City Hall hours.
