
Coach John Woodford’s Greene County High School bowling teams took part in a Baker Tournament in Osceola hosted by Clarke Community on Saturday. There are no individual scores in a Baker event with five players each rolling two frames to compile a team score.
Clarke won both divisions, taking the boys’ title with a 2,986 score. The Rams were second at 2,756, followed by Lenox at 2,540, and Mount Ayr with a total of , 2491 pins. In winning the girls’ title, Clarke rolled a 2,338 total with Lenox at 1,829, Greene County 1,623, and 1,412 for Mount Ayr.
Coach Woodford told Raccoon Valley Radio both Rams teams did better at this event than in 2023. “The boys even beat their best Baker game with a 254 and they averaged 183 for the tournament. The girls had games of 158 and 141 and averaged 108. No individual scores were reported by the coach and none were posted by Sunday night on statistical website Bound Iowa.
