The Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center School Boards approved at their December meeting the use of Safety Grant funds for a few projects in their respective buildings.
Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that they are trying to finish using up the funds they were given under the state safety grant. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio about what those funds will go towards.
“So we purchased at the AC building, through Door Entry Control System, new access control system has been installed and is working really well for us. We’re adding a few more cameras in some areas where we’re lacking those cameras. And finally, just some interior door hardware. So we have capabilities of locking each door from the inside.
Rasmussen mentions that the projects for the buildings under the GC Board’s jurisdiction include two doors that will be fitted for the access system at the elementary school, with all but three doors to be fitted at the high school. He adds that there will also be cameras installed at both locations as well.
