A Jefferson business recently received a local grant to improve the overall storefront look.
Jefferson Matters Executive Director Matt Wetrich says Greene Goods was awarded a $1,000 facade grant for a unique project.
“Doing work on that main greenhouse actually right there. So yeah, the facade of the greenhouse itself. Come next spring when you go out there or you drive by, it’ll be painted with some art on kind of that foundation/facade piece of that greenhouse.”
Wetrich points out there are a variety of grant opportunities through the Design Team that businesses can utilize, including grants for facades, outside signage, expansion for new items for existing businesses, each up to $1,000; Jefferson Wants You Incentive Fund for new businesses for up to $5,000 and a Remote Worker for individuals to receive a one year membership to the Gravitate Coworking location on the downtown square.
Wetrich explains that these grants do not just apply to those businesses that are within the historic downtown district, but just have a Jefferson address and you can apply. He adds that applications for these grants can be found on the website, jeffersonmatters.org.
