Beef weigh-ins with the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Offices in both Adair and Guthrie Counties are coming up soon.

Adair County Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage says that their weigh-in is December 28th from 9am to noon, and will include retinal images for Iowa State Fair entries for those who signed up to do so. Guthrie County Youth Coordinator Rachel Blum mentions that their weigh-in will be January 4, 2025 from 9am to noon. She adds that all animals need a 840 United States Department of Agriculture tag, and that those looking to exhibit animals at the state fair need to have those animals receive retinal imaging.
