Greene County Activities Director Dave Wright was a guest on the PM Sports Magazine at 6 o’clock last night on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com. Among the topics of conversation were changes to the various Greene County High School Winter Sports schedules.

The girls and boys bowling teams were to have started the January portion of their seasons on Jan. 6 vs. Ballard, but that has been changed to Jan. 17 vs. the Bombers, with bowling taking place at Perfect Games in Ames. The Rams were iced out of action vs. Kuemper Catholic and Carroll High in Carroll that was originally supposed to have taken place Dec. 13. That is expected to be made up, although no new date had been reported as of Monday.

Ram wrestlers missed out on the Ogden Dual Meet Tournament due to icy conditions on Dec. 14. Activities Director Dave Wright is working on getting something new on the schedule in early January.

Also new to the Greene County boys’ basketball schedule are JV/varsity boys’ games in Jefferson on Thursday, Jan. 23 vs. Woodward Academy. The Knights were needing games, so the Iowa High School Athletic Association allowed the Rams to play a 22nd regular season game to help Woodward Academy fill their schedule.

The girls and boys varsity basketball teams were weathered out of games on Dec. 13 vs. PCM (Monroe). Those games are set to be made up on Thursday, Jan. 16 at the high school in Jefferson.
