An organization in the community of Perry is receiving some extra monetary support from a couple of local contributors.

According to a press release from Perry Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Lynsi Pasutti, Perry Economic Development, along with the City of Perry, has matched the local grant funds of $30,000 that was given by the Iowa Rural Development Council through the Wells Fargo Foundation to support small businesses. She expresses that the two local entities have each pledged $15,000, plus $8,500 left over from previous grant funds to bring the total amount to $68,500. The Chamber Foundation is currently taking grant applications from businesses and is hoping this money will assist the community following a tough 2024 year.

“Businesses have really been hit hard this year, so I’m really excited about this program to be able to assist businesses so uniquely to each one, instead of just ‘you can only use it for this or that,’ you can really make it their own.”

Pasutti outlines that grant requests should range between $2,500 and $7,500 and include  at least 10 percent matching funds. She says that applications will be available through next Tuesday, December 31st and must be turned into the chamber office by 5pm. To access the application form, click the link below.
