The Guthrie County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Monday.
The Board tabled a decision on a mental health budget and personnel hiring. They discussed with Guthrie County Health Services Director Jotham Arber on the subject, and he shared that the Board of Health approved a budget, but wanted to see a pay scale instead of a set salary for providers. He added that in talks with the individual who owns the location they were looking at leasing for a mental health clinic in Stuart, the owner wanted to switch from a one year to a three year contract. Arber felt he needed to discuss with the Board before making a decision.
Arber continued by sharing that the mental health provider that they do have on staff finished their licensing last week, so they are able to continue providing services as they have been. He continued that a budget does need to be set, and that he’d like to get things going, as long as they can be done sustainably and aligned with a budget.
