A few students in the Dallas County area were recognized by an Iowa Senator as they plan to enter military institutions.

According to a press release, U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley recently announced that 34 Iowa students are planning to attend military academies. Of those students, Ella Goodrich, from Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School, along with Naomi Templeman and Ky Wilkens from Dallas Center-Grimes High School, are three students in Dallas County that have chosen that route. Goodrich committed to the United States Merchant Marine Academy and the U.S. Naval Academy, while Templeman is attending the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and Wilkens is going to the U.S. Air Force Academy. 

According to Grassley’s Office, Senator Grassley nominates high school seniors to these academies and that the students are then selected by the institutions.
