Basketball is said to be a game of runs and that’s how the start of the Perry girls basketball season has gone. The Jayettes started the year great winning their first 3 games. Since then it has been all down hill falling in the last 6. Perry sits at 3-6 before they return to the court a week from today against Nevada.
The Jayettes are led by Lily Myers, who is averaging a double double. 11.6 points and 13.9 rebounds in her sophomore season. Karagyn Whelchel and Taryn Nehring are chipping in 7.8 and 6.9 points per game respectfully. As a team, Perry is scoring 34.3 points a night while giving up 47. Full court pressure has been a thorn for the Jayettes as they average over 20 turnovers a game.
The Jayettes will look for their second conference win of the season on Friday, January 3 when Nevada comes to Perry.
