A player from the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn High School Basketball team is in the top bracket for scoring so far in Class 3A.
ADM junior Hudson Lorensen has been on a complete tear through the first six games of the 2024-25 season, averaging 28.2 points per game. He sits in third behind Waverly-Shell Rock senior Luke Frazell (28.6) and Decorah’s junior Cael LaFrentz (33.4 ppg). However, Lorensen is second in total scoring with 169, and Tiger Head Coach Trevor Mickelson recognizes how gifted he is.
“He’s unbelievable. He’s just a special player and he’s lived in the gym, he’s put in the work and it’s so exciting to see him have such success and he still finds a way, he’s so crafty, he gets to the free throw line and obviously, he’s such a great shooter that it forces guys to come out and get up on him.”
Lorensen began the year scoring 29 in the opening game versus Dallas Center-Grimes, then it was 26 points against North Polk, 33 in Carroll, 25 versus Winterset, 30 up against Bondurant-Farrar, and 26 in the latest matchup battling Ballard.
ADM is 5-1 on the year (4-1 inside the Raccoon River Conference) as they will be playing a non-conference game at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines next Friday, January 3rd, 2025.
