The Mary J Barnett Memorial Library in Guthrie Center is already preparing for the new year.
Library Director Jerri Hawkins says that they are working with the Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach to bring some after school programs to the library for patrons to participate in, especially children.
“Well these are some Outreach programs that we’ve set up with the Guthrie County Extension Office, and we’re very thankful for them to come over and do these after school programs with us. They set up the programs, they bring all the supplies, (and) the kids have a great opportunity to learn something with the Iowa State Extension Office (and) Outreach programs.”
Hawkins mentions that the December program involved a story on dinosaurs, and that they are looking forward to the January program, which will be about digital coding on January 9th from 3:30-4:30pm.
