A local figure in the City of Perry reveals the future work of a wetland project heading into 2025.
According to Perry City Administrator Sven Peterson, construction on the Frog Creek Restoration project along Pattee Park is progressing nicely. He says that the swamp area needs to be dormant seeded, but warmer weather is required to do that. Peterson outlines that the plan to start 2025 is for workers to do livestaking.
“The objective for those is that they’re all very intentionally chosen to be able to grow into that streambank and stabilize that soil for the future, for when that water table, or the water level does rise in rain or wet season, that’s able to hold that creek bank in place, so that we lessen the amount of erosion that takes place in that corridor.”
Peterson admits that the livestaking is the final major step for the Frog Creek project and explains that city officials will look to polish up certain spaces in the spring time.
