One way to work off those Holiday pounds for Greene County High School wrestlers is to go through an early morning workout, which is just what the Rams did. Early morning practices are on the docket for today, tomorrow, and Monday through Wednesday next week until school resumes on Jan. 2.

Coach Kirk Davis’ wrestlers are scheduled to compete on Jan. 4 in Coon Rapids, a late addition to the schedule, and that will begin the 2025 portion of the season. It’s a dual meet format with the Crusaders of Coon Rapids-Bayard, Greene County, and one or two other teams.

The Rams have been nowhere near having all their wrestlers in the lineup so far, and Coach Davis is hoping to be able to fill more than 10 of the 14 weight classes on Jan. 4. The Rams took just seven wrestlers to their final 2024 appearance, the Dec. 21 Carroll Tiger Invitational, but four of the seven did win individual titles.
