With the Christmas holiday over, Perry residents will soon have a way to get rid of their live decorative trees.

According to Marketing and Engagement Coordinator Chris Cohea, the City of Perry is doing its annual Christmas tree pickup for a few days during the month of January. Cohea tells Raccoon Valley Radio that all decorations should be removed from the live trees as well as placing greenery in disposal bags.

He mentions that this process will only apply to real trees and not artificial ones. Cohea says that since New Year’s falls on Wednesday, city officials plan to pick up trees the following two Wednesdays, on January 8th and 15th. He notes that the trees and greenery will need to be out on the curb by 7am on those mornings. Any questions can be directed to Perry City Hall at (515)-465-2481.
