Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Activities Director Rod Wiebers expresses his jubilation for the school’s newest activity to launch off here in the winter season.

ADM is in the first official season of having its own bowling team, as the Tigers partnered with Waukee High School for the past several years. Wiebers tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the school’s numbers grew to the point where they felt comfortable enough to start their own league at ADM. The girls are coached by Sarah Boesen and Jason Kilker leads the boys squad. Wiebers is thankful for their leadership for the athletes.

“(They’ve) just been phenomenal in starting off this program and getting it up and going. Our boys are 2-3 and have quite a bit of momentum going for them, and our girls keep getting better every single day. There’s a bunch of new kids that are first to it, especially on our girls side, but they do have some returners coming back, but it’s just been really cool to have that attachment to another thing in the winter for our kids to be involved in. And our students have come out, our community has come out to see it, and it’s just going to continue to get better every single day.”

The girls have nine freshmen and two sophomores on their team, while the boys are working with two freshmen, two sophomores, three juniors, and four seniors. ADM will be returning to the Adel Family Fun Center on Monday, January 6th taking on Pella Christian at 4pm.
